Werkstatt

Dennis Schnieber via Ben

Siebdruck via Christian Linke

In diesem Sinne: Bleibt anders, bleibt frei!

Workshops

Buying clothes or printing photos online doesn’t cost a dime, not even time. However, the world of capitalistic globalisation tends to alienate the consumer from the world that he built for himself. Here at the Parclub we think that people still matter, and thus we want to put you back into the centre of your own life.   Our “Workshop” holds a lot of different things. From wood shop, to silk-screen printing, to urban gardening, to graffiti the Parkclub has a lot of tools to pace your life, and occupy your time. Not all of our workshops are permanent installations, because we don’t have the space to run a fully grown Hobby Hall. But if you have practical ideas, and lack a few tools for them, we are here to help you realise your dreams.

Graffiti at Parkclub
The walls near the Parkclub are home to some pretty cool artwork. Yours could be up there, too!

Graffiti

The walls of Fürstenwalde are home to some genuinely great spray art. But nobody is born as a spray-paint master, so don’t let the existence of art intimidate you on your own journey. If you want to experiment with different designs and techniques, just come on over. The Parkclub has a whole wall dedicated to aspiring graffiti beginners, where you can distribute funky colours to your heart’s content. None of us are professionals, but if you have questions and ideas, we might just knoe the right person to talk to. The same counts for all other aspects of street art. If you need an open space to develop your art, come and talk to us.

Do-It-Yourself Bike Repair Workshop

Is your bike cycle getting too noisy for your finely tuned ears? Head over to our bike repair workshop, and fix it up. You can find more information here.

bike repair workshop at the Parkclub
The bike repair workshop is open to everyone with fingers and a bike.

Photography

Everybody can point a smart phone at a meal and snap a picture. However, creating art from imagery is much more complex than that. Who even knows the meaning of the hundreds of tools that are incorporated in our modern day photo software? At the Parkclub we still have black&white film, and are not afraid to use it. Mostly because we also have the resources to develop our own film, dry it, and make prints from the analogous original. Once you have gone through that process yourself you develop a much better understanding of what happens when you press the trigger of your camera, and what options you have to brighten up your digital selfies. As always, just message us at clubimpark@gmx.de to get yourself involved.

Silk-Screen Printing

Hoodies, t-shirts, bags, or sweaters – most cotton-based fabrics can be personalised with silk-screen printing. If you have or need ideas for your very own shirt print, get some information on our silk-screen print shop here.

Parkclub Wood Shop
Our Parkclub Wood Shop is well equipped with tools and ideas.

 Wood Shop

Wood is one of the most transformable materials available, and wood crafting is one of the oldest and most rewarding arts. If you need new furniture, and are not impressed by the options at your local store, just come and make your own. Click here to find out more.

 Urban Gardening

Our garden project is growing fast. Find out how you can foster and apply your own gardening skills here.

INFOtheke

Sometimes we all feel a bit disconnected. Even if life goes as planned, it still seems to develop a taste of blandness, and you start to lose touch with the world around you. You are not alone in thinking “there has to be more to this”, and we may have a pretty decent way to deal with that. The Parkclub hosts a group of self-proclaimed weirdoes who find that life should have meaning, education is important, and social structures matter. The workshop title INFOtheke can be loosely translated as “counter discussion”, and that pretty much sums up our ultimate goal: meet at the bar counter, and discuss the things that matter to us. We meet, greet, and discuss stories and books. That might be a text you have to read at school, or a transcript that is part of your work environment. Sharing is caring, and most literature gains in its value when you discuss it with others. And the best is, unlike in school you don’t HAVE to read everything, and you don’t HAVE to always voice an opinion on everything. If you would like to join our reading-and-discussion sessions, e-mail us at parkclub(ett)systemli.org

parkflimmern – the Short Film Festival

Since 2015 the Parkclub hosts its own short film festival. Not only do we present various interesting films. We also offer discussions with film directors, and other behind-the-scenes information. Follow this link to find out more.

Parkcub against fascism

At the Parkclub we are against Nazis and fascists in any shape or form, and we find it pretty sad to live in a time where things like that even have to be announced. With the help of apabiz e.V. we infrequently host information sessions, discussion tables, and talks about the ultra-right. We also talk about related subjects such as migration, immigration, and the general degradation of human rights in today’s world. Most of all we home to the socialist project of Zusammen leben (Living together). This initiative was born from a handful of people who live in and around Fürstenwalde, and basically wanted to talk about the way we share our common living space. The project has its own magazine, which is available free of charge, in three languages (German, English, and Arabic). Just visit the website to find out more, and maybe get involved: www.zusammen-leben.org Should you have questions, answers, ideas, or concerns about anything happening at the Parkclub, just drop by, or send us an e-mail at clubimpark@gmx.de, We are open from Wednesday to Sunday, and we love to do stuff. So, drop by, and get involved.   Participation in any of our workshops or activities is always free of charge. Obviously, if you use materials that we bought, such as paint or woods, someone will have to reimburse that. However, a lack of financial means should never be a reason for not getting yourself over to the Parkclub, and getting creative.   With that in mind, stay different, stay free.
